Peace Over Pressure

Peace over pressure. Set the mood Christian blog

Good morning.

Before we begin, I would like to encourage you to take a moment to decide to participate in being intentional with not only committing to setting the mood for your day, but in knowing that every decision you make is shaping your day, your mood, your mindset, and ultimately your destiny. Ready? Let’s go.

Before the world begins asking for your attention, give this moment to God. Take a slow breath with me. Notice the light coming through your window. Feel your feet on the floor. Whether today holds meetings or summer camp drop-offs, laundry or deadlines, conversations or quiet moments, remember this: You do not have to carry today alone.God is already here.

 Let’s set the mood.

Verse of the Day

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
— II Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Fear has a way of disguising itself.

Sometimes it sounds like, “What if I don’t have enough time?”

Sometimes it’s, “What if I make the wrong decision?”

Or perhaps, “What if I can’t handle what’s ahead?”

Before long, our minds begin racing, our shoulders tense, and we find ourselves hurrying through a day God never asked us to rush.

But Scripture gently reminds us that fear is not our inheritance. One of the things I learned about fear is that it robs us of love, of our power, and of a sound mind.

God has given us something better.

Power to walk faithfully.

Love that steadies our hearts.

And a sound mind, one that can rest in Him even when life feels uncertain.

Today, you don’t need to have every answer.

You don’t need to know how every problem will be solved.

You only need to remember who walks with you and who has all the answers.

A woman outdoors in a sunlit forest setting, wearing a large straw hat, a sheer light aqua puff-sleeve top, and an orange patterned bottom. Her eyes are closed and her hand rests against the brim of the hat.

Today’s Invitation

Carry this verse with you today in your heart.

If you begin to feel anxious, overwhelmed, or hurried, don’t criticize yourself.

Simply pause.

Take one slow breath.

Whisper these words with conviction or say them out loud if you are by yourself:

“Fear, I resist you. God has not given me a spirit of fear.”

Repeat until you are truly convinced then continue your day.

Other emotions and feelings may arise like grief for example. Do not repress them, allow them to come up. In my experience,  fear often hides grief underneath. Next time we will speak more on releasing our feelings and emotions.

For now, remain focused on Jesus and take deep breaths.

Sometimes peace doesn’t arrive all at once.

Sometimes it returns one quiet moment at a time.

Today’s Playlist

As you move through your day, let worship become the background instead of noise.

Whether you’re driving, working, cooking, or folding laundry, allow songs that point your heart toward God to gently shape the atmosphere around you.

Sometimes changing what fills our ears changes what fills our minds. You can find a beautiful playlist linked below:

When the Day Is Done

Before you go to bed tonight, think back on your day.

Can you remember one moment when you experienced God’s peace?

Perhaps it came through a conversation.

A sunrise.

An answered prayer.

Or simply the quiet assurance that He was with you.

Hold on to that moment, write it down in your journal. It will be importantly for the end of the week.

Thank Jesus for it.

Then let tomorrow remain in His hands.

Until Next Time…

May your heart be steadied by God’s presence.

May your mind rest in His truth.

May you notice His goodness in the ordinary.

May you walk in love and power today. May you make sound decisions.

And may you carry His peace with you wherever today leads.

Love

Lori
